Nash Nursery

We have been certified organic farmers with the Soil Association since 1978. Our organic license number is G977.

We pride ourselves in growing a wide range of great tasting, high quality seasonal vegetables and salad, which are grown in a traditional rotation with green manures. We also keep organic, free range chickens, which produce fantastic tasting fresh eggs.

We farm two farms in East Kent, totaling 80 acres. Potts Farm is on the southern edge of the area which was once the Wantsum Channel. This results in a wide range of soil types from clay to slit. Some fields are bordered by drainage streams which can be used for irrigation and the farm is mostly at or even below sea level. Nash Nursery is 4 miles from Potts Farm and was purchased in 2005. This is where we keep our poultry and have our glasshouses which we use for producing all of our vegetable plants and a wide range of salads throughout the year. These include mixed salad leaves, lettuce, celery, radish and pak choi in the winter and tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and cucumbers in the summer. At both farms we have open fields where we grow a very wide range of outdoor crops. The main ones are potatoes, leeks, onions, sweetcorn, broad & runner beans, lettuce, pumpkins, squashes and a large variety of brassicas including cabbage, kale, cauliflower, purple sprouting broccoli and Brussel sprouts. We harvest produce 52 weeks of the year.

We run an organic vegetable box scheme as well as selling our produce to the wholesale markets and through our family farm shop Wingham Country Market.
